Roo Roo's Story

✨ Meet Roo-Roo ✨
Little legs, big personality, and a heart full of love

Roo Roo is currently in Puerto Vallarta and can easily be flown to the nearest airport near YOU in the USA or Canada!

Roo-Roo is a truly special boy who will steal your heart the moment you meet him. He is incredibly social, affectionate, and happiest simply being close to his people—whether that’s curling up beside you or keeping you company throughout the day. Roo-Roo was born with a congenital condition that affects his legs—his front legs are shorter than his back legs, which gives him a unique, splayed way of walking. He may also have had a past injury that has since healed, though we can’t say for certain. What we do know is that he has adapted beautifully and doesn’t let his differences hold him back.
He uses a large, low-entry litter box for bowel movements. Roo-Roo is incontinent of urine, which is easily managed by wearing a diaper—and he tolerates this very well.

He’s playful, curious, and full of character. While he can’t quite run like other cats, Roo-Roo has his own adorable version of the zoomies that will absolutely make you smile. He doesn’t let anything slow him down when it comes to enjoying life.

Roo-Roo loves other animals and has a special bond with a small Chihuahua in his foster home. He is also wonderful with children, making him a great fit for a loving, interactive household.

Roo-Roo is looking for a compassionate, understanding home that will embrace his special needs and love him for the incredible, joyful, and resilient cat he is. In return, he will give you endless affection, companionship, and a daily reminder of just how special he truly is 💛

Roo Roo will have our complete cat protocol:

* Complete Health exam by a Vet
* Feline tests to rule out FeLV, FIV & Heartworm
* Bloodwork 1: CBC (Mycoplasma check if indicated)
* Bloodwork 2: Chem profile
* Deworming at intake and monthly thereafter
* Vaccines: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR), Feline Distemper (FP), Calicivirus (FCV), Rabies
* Spay/Neuter
* Flea/Tick prevention
* Microchipping

*Please send us an application at : wetnosesrescue.org/adoption-application-Cats

Wet Noses Rescue's Adoption Policy
First, adopters must fill out our online application at wetnosesrescue.org. If approved, there is a phone interview and virtual home check. We are a shelter based in Punta de Mita, Mexico, and also operate in San Diego. We understand that it can be challenging to meet our animals in person due to the distance. However, we have a process in place to ensure a smooth adoption experience. Most of our animals are located at our shelter in Punta de Mita. We frequently arrange transportation for our animals up the West Coast of the USA (San Francisco, Seattle, etc.) and the Western Provinces of Canada (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, etc.). To help you get a better sense of the animals, we can offer additional photos, videos, and even schedule video calls. Please see our Google Reviews (https://goo.gl/maps/aDbyG4vW9YWNTs4d7) for some of our adoptive families' experiences. We are a volunteer run organization, and a flight angel would accompany them. This area is a touristy area, and many people like to volunteer in various ways to support the community, and especially support the neglected animals finding good homes. To secure flights, it generally takes us between 1-4 weeks once an animal is ready to go home.
