Meet Ronny

Oh hi! Are you here to pet me? I LOVE pets! Oh yeah, under the chin, too. Will you rub my tummy? Oohhhhh yeah just like that. I think you're my new best friend. I'm Ronny. I'm two years young-really just an overgrown kitten! I'm sweet like honey and oh so cuddly. I'm not too picky who I cuddle with-my favourite people, a kitty buddy, or even by myself on a nice soft pillow or in the windowsill, watching the world go by. I'm a very laid-back boy who loves to enjoy the simple things-a cozy place to sleep, companionship, a full tummy, and a mouse on a string to play with (in that order). I’m a purrrfect companion because cuddling is one of my favourite things, but I'm not super clingy. Most of the time, I'm happy to do my own thing and relax. But when I get into love mode, I'll come find you for a good cuddle session. When you're on the couch watching TV, I'll come up for cuddles and purr, purr, purr. Sometimes, I purr so hard that I drool a little! I love chin scratches and tummy rubs, and curling up with you for a catnap. I love my humans and I make sure you know that by trying to groom your hair and covering your hand in kitty kisses during a love session. Oh and one of my other favourite things is dinnertime! It's a good thing I like my food, because I have to stay on this special diet called "Urinary SO", because I got these things called "crystals" that caused me a big problem once. But as long as I eat this food and get a lot of water, I shouldn't have any problems.

Let me tell you my story. When I was a kitten, someone kept me in a crate in their garage with my mom and siblings for six months until we were rescued. There was nowhere to hide, and I was very scared. When I was rescued, I was in foster home for about a year, but they weren't sure how to help me be less scared, and my feline foster brother bullied me, so I hid most of the time to stay away from him. I got really good at hiding, and my foster family wouldn't know where I was unless I decided to come out (which was mostly at bedtime, to get some cuddles). I moved to a new foster home where no other cats could bully me. I'm still scared of open spaces that I don't know and in a new place, I like to find a cozy hiding spot, and slowly venture out from there to explore. But I'm getting much more confident. I'm still nervous around strangers, so when someone comes over to the house I usually just go sit in one of my favourite nap places on a high shelf. I just need some time and patience to get to know my new surroundings and people.

So now I'm ready to find a special home of my own. My new family will have experience with shy cats, and be willing to take things slow at first while I learn to trust them and get to know the new house. I'm much calmer when there are other kitties around to keep me company, so I need a home with at least one calm, confident kitty friend. My foster mom doesn't know if I've ever met a dog, but she says I might like a doggy friend if they're calm and used to cats. I would love a family with older kids, because young ones might startle me.
