Rocky 's Story
Meet Rocky!

This sweet 8 year old guy was brought to us after he was put outside when his owner passed away. He is huge but so gentle and very loving. He loves to be pet, doesn't mind being held, and he does fabulous for veterinary procedures. Throughout the day he just relaxes and lays in his bed or inside his little nook on the cat tree. He is just a ham sandwich of a fella:)

Unfortunately, due to being an outdoor kitty and enduring fighting with feral cats he is FIV+. This has not effected him negatively at all, it just means he has lower immunity than other kitties. But since this is transmittable to other kitties through blood shed from fighting, we think he'd be best as the only kitty. He also is not the biggest fan of other cats, he wants his humans love to himself:)

What is FIV?
It is a virus that affects a cat's immune system, making it harder for them to fight off infections. It's often compared to HIV in humans but is specific to cats and cannot be transmitted to people or other animal species
How is it spread?
Primarily through bite wounds, commonly seen in outdoor, unneutered male cats.
Common misconceptions:
• It is not spread through shared resources like contact while sharing food/water bowls or even grooming.
• It is not transmittable to humans or non-feline pets.
• It is not a death sentence! FIV+ cats can live long, happy lives!

He is UTD on vaccines and neutered he's just waiting for his furrever home!

If Rocky sounds like he might be a good fit, copy and paste https://airtable.com/appuByqpwx7zy0Hi8/pagVHMwd3rJZ8wTYi/form into your address bar to apply, or come visit us during our normal business hours.
