Rocky's Story

Hi, my name is Rocky! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Rocky is a shy and calm older cat who is looking for his forever home where he can get endless chin scritches and quiet love.
-Can Live with Cats: Rocky lived with cats in his previous home and often cuddled them so he would likely be ok with other cats as long as there is a slow and proper introduction.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks! Rocky has never lived with dogs and due to his age and shyness, dogs would most likely be too overwhelming.
-Can Live with Kids: Teenaged+ would likely be ok. As long as kids are respectful and can respect Rockys need for a quiet and calm home it should go well. Final decision is up to counselor.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes! Rocky has had an indoor only home for most of his life and would likely not adjust well to being outside. for his safety an indoor only home is strongly encouraged.
-History of Litter Box Issues: While Rocky has been consistently using his litter pan while in our care, he does have a history of having urinary blockages so he will need to be on a prescription diet for his entire life to prevent any more urinary issues.
-Energy Level: low mellow energy
-Bite History: no
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No. Rocky is ready to go home.

Meet Rocky! A sweet and mellow senior kitty looking for a quiet forever home where he can relax, enjoy chin scritches, and be loved at his own pace. Rocky can be shy at first, but once comfortable he’s a gentle companion who will enjoy a cozy home. Rocky may do well with another calm cat after a slow introduction. He would do best in a quiet, indoor-only home without dogs and may do well with respectful older kids or teens. Rocky does have a history of having urinary blockages so he will need a lifelong prescription diet to help manage his urinary health. This kitty is ready to find a loving home to spend his golden years in comfort, if that could be you, please ask to meet with Rocky!!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
