Rocko

Meet Rocko, an incredible little survivor who is ready to play and charm his way into your heart!

Rocko's rescue story starts out a little sad. He suddenly appeared on the streets of Crown Heights, with a severely injured tail. Neighbors were so alarmed that they went live on the Citizen app, begging for someone to rescue him. When we took one look at Rocko we couldn't say no.

This boy was whisked inside and the rest is history. Sadly, the damage to Rocko's tail was extensive and he had to undergo an amputation. But he has recovered from that surgery very well - his tail is now only 2-3 inches long, giving him the appearance of a handsome little Manx cat. It does not impact his ability to run, play, use the bathroom, or do any of the things normal cats like to do. In fact, if you ask Rocko, he'd tell you the most traumatic thing about this process was the fact that he had to wear a donut cone for 3 weeks - it was awful!

Now, Rocko has settled into his foster homes where he's showed them what a playful boy he truly is. This buddy has energy in spades! He loves to playing with wand toys and racing across the apartment for anything you may throw his way. He enjoys puzzle feeders, window watching, and even tracks the ball on any sports games you might be watching (the US Open was a great time for Rocko!)

Once Rocko gets all his energy out he likes to curl up on the couch with you and snooze while you watch your shows, game, or read.

While he is currently being fostered as the only pet in the home we suspect Rocko would do well with another playful cat or a cat-friendly dog. His ideal home is one that is delighted to welcome his spunky energy, give him lots of outlets for play, and love him for the zany energetic boy he is.

Rocko is estimated to be just 1 year old and is fully vetted. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, FIV and FeLV negative, and treated for parasites and fleas.

If you are interested in learning more about Rocko, please fill out our application at: https://forms.gle/2VBpJ6R8fHkDGw9a8
