Rockette's Story
Meet Devon and Rockette!

Devon and Rockette are a bonded pair of precious, purring cat companions with a story shaped by resilience, loyalty, and enduring devotion.

For many years, these two have been familiar and beloved faces at HSCC. Their friendship blossomed in our care while living alongside in our feral cat colony, weathering the seasons side by side. Through blazing summers and bitter winters, Devon and Rockette consistently chose each other, forming a quiet, steadfast partnership built on trust and comfort. While Rockette preferred to keep to the edges and quietly survey the scenes, Devon showed us he was a lover at heart, always friendly, curious, and eager for connection.

Everything changed this fall when Devon was injured in a scuffle with another outdoor cat. What began as a routine treatment quickly became a turning point. During his exam, Devon was diagnosed as FIV+ and discovered to have a heart condition. These findings meant that returning to outdoor life was no longer safe or fair for him. Thanks to an extensive medical workup, specialty referrals, and the incredible dedication of our veterinary team, Devon's heart condition is now well controlled with twice-daily medication, and he is feeling better than ever.

Devon is the kind of cat who fills a room. He is friendly, nosey, bold, and delightfully sassy. He wants to be right in the middle of whatever you're doing, supervising your day, offering enthusiastic headbutts, giving hugs, and making sure he's included in every moment. He thrives on human interaction and reminds you that love is meant to be shared freely, confidently, and often.

Rockette is his perfect counterbalance. Soft, observant, and quietly brave, Rockette is reserved and gentle, finding her confidence through Devon's steady presence. She doesn't seek attention, but she deeply values calm companionship. Her happiest moments are spent curled up in warm, cozy nap spots, tucked into quiet hideaways, or peacefully observing the world from a safe distance. Devon is her anchor, her comfort, her security, her constant.

Due to Devon's medical needs and the depth of their bond, Devon and Rockette are looking for a home together.

Their ideal home offers:

- Plenty of space to explore and relax
- Safe outdoor access, such as a catio or three-season porch, to honor their roots
- Daily interaction and engagement for Devon
- Quiet nooks and cozy hiding places for Rockette
- A heart open to patience, compassion, and commitment
- No other pets
- No children

This is a big ask but it comes with a big reward. Devon and Rockette offer a love that is deep and truly earned. Could your home be the one they've been waiting for?
