Rocket's Story

Rocket is a loving cat and wants to be with people. He follows his foster around. He likes all toys and very much enjoys playing with the other kittens in his foster home. He naps with the other cats and small dogs, but his favorite place to be is on your lap and in your bed.

Rocket came to us very sick at a couple weeks old and after being sprayed by a skunk. He spent his first few weeks in and out of an incubator on oxygen with regular breathing treatments. He often is congested and sneezes. He has been seen by multiple vets and had 2 sedated exams which revealed no polyps or need for a nasal flush. His most recent testing was positive for Feline Herpes Virus. Almost all infected cats become latent carriers, meaning the virus hides in the body and can reactivate during stress. It would be best for Rocket to be the only cat in his adoptive home as herpes is contagious. Because he loves other animals, dogs in the home would be good as the virus cannot be passed to them (or humans). He is currently symptom free but an adopter must know he may have flare ups his whole life.

It's time for Rocket to find his forever home that understands his health needs. Nothing keeps this guy down and he is very tolerant for all he has been through. Will you be the one to give this sweet boy the home he deserves?

Adoption fee is $150. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, given age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed and kept up to date on flea prevention.

If you’re interested in adopting, please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CMR/Cat
