Found frightened and hungry along the side of the highway by one of our volunteers, Roadrunner has embraced indoor life and is making up for lost time with bird watching, toy mice, and all the pets he can get.<br/><br/>Roadrunner is the kind of cat who loves being near his people. He'll happily follow you from room to room, chatting along the way, just to make sure he doesn't miss out on any attention. While he may be a little shy when meeting someone new, it doesn't take long for his sweet personality to shine. Once he feels safe, he's an affectionate cuddle bug who enjoys being petted, picked up, and reminded just how loved he is.<br/><br/>Roadrunner is FIV-positive, which simply means he's looking for an indoor home where he can live a long, happy, healthy life. FIV is spread through deep bite wounds, typically seen on outdoor male cats who have not been neutered. It's rarely spread through grooming, sharing bowls, or litter boxes. FIV affects a cat's immune system, but most cats live long lives when they live indoors, receive routine veterinary care, have a stress-free home, and a good diet. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. <br/><br/>Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! <br/><br/>All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
