Paradise Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Welcome to the beginning of an incredible adventure! As you start your journey to forever, know that we’re here to help you find your perfect match. Get ready to fill your life with joy, love, and unforgettable moments with your new furry friend! At Paradise Animal Rescue, we're dedicated to find the home that is the best fit for our once homeless pets and to make the adoption process a positive experience. Here are some things you need to know: Please Note: At this time, we do not offer on-site adoptions. We encourage meet-and-greets after your application has been pre-approved. All animal meet-and-greets are during open hours or by appointment. To get started, submit your application online: parpets.org. Things to know: · You must be at least 18 years of age with a valid ID. · Your application must be approved for adoption. · We review all applications and check personal/veterinarian references. Some animals may require a veterinarian's reference. · Non-therapeutic & cosmetic surgeries including declawing, ear cropping, devocalization, and tail docking will not be permitted. · Some animals have special requirements. · We may require a home visit or meet-and-greet before an adoption can be finalized. · PAR reserves the right to decline an application for any reason. · All information will be kept confidential. We truly value every person who applies to adopt. Each animal in our care come with a unique story, different needs, fears, and timelines for healing. Our goal is not just adoption, but to ensure that their next move is their last. Many pets have experienced neglect or abuse. Some come to us from animal control so we lack their full history with other pets and children. Others required months of patience, training, and trust-building to overcome the effects of displacement, stress, and change. During that time, we learn about each animal’s personality and behaviors. Placing the right pet with the right family is as important as the adoption itself. While you may be an excellent animal owner, your home may not be the best fit for the particular pet you've applied for. We promise the perfect match for your heart is worth the wait. We’re honored to be part of the journey. We encourage you to consult with a veterinarian and review resources on responsible adoption, including safe introductions with children and other pets, and other dos-and-don'ts to help a new pet decompress in a unfamiliar environment. Every new animal will need time to adjust, feel safe, and learn the rhythms of your household and routines. Bringing home a new pet is incredibly exciting but we ask for your patience while your pet adjusts. Adopters should commit to an adjustment period, providing time, understanding, and a gentle hand as your new companion settles in. 2-3 weeks is minimum but some animals require additional time. Safety and the well-being of both our animals and their human families are our top priorities.
