Hello there, friend- Thanks for stopping by!<br/><br/>At Hobbes Haven our mission is to help shape and support a better life for feral & stray cat colonies in our varying communities of the Columbia River Gorge.<br/><br/>We want to introduce you to Riddle (don't forget her siblings Domino, Quinn & her twin brother Harvey and mama Cinder)!<br/><br/>Riddle is an oreo cookie with hair! She is the most darling, spunky, fuzz ball! "Is that food? Our food, right?" She is food motivated but courteous and doesn't fight over the bowl. She adventures and is confident and is definitely ready to go on adventures with the right person. Riddle is incredibly sweet and doesn't mind sky cuddles as long as they are fully supported. Oh, and did we mention she has the most precious baby mews!<br/>Riddle is ready to join her furever family alongside one of her siblings, or even her twin mama Cinder! <br/><br/>Riddle was rescued with her stray mom and 4 of her siblings after they were born in the basement of a very old home in Hood River. The owner of the home discovered the mama cat sneaking into the basement, to find her in a small nook hiding a litter of newborn kittens! The house owner started leaving food out for the mama and indirectly helping to domesticate her. As our harsh summer weather started to peek through, this caregiver reached out to Hobbes Haven for support in removing the mama and kittens, so they had an adequate space to nurse, with the hopes they could be adopted. Hobbes Haven was able to rescue the entire family in June 2026 and has been working with mama Cinder and all of the kittens to get them ready for adoption!<br/><br/>Due to them being rescued together and tamed for domestication alongside one another, they have endured growth together that has bonded them. Our goal is for Riddle to be adopted with one of her siblings to ensure a comfortable transition to her new home. <br/><br/>We hope to find families that will keep in touch with Hobbes Haven and update us with pictures and videos of our rescued friends! Remember that many times we have been fostering these kittens for many months, and that is another reason you know Hobbes Haven is a good-hearted organization to support, because our goal is to find the RIGHT homes, NOT a home RIGHT NOW.<br/>Here at Hobbes Haven we focus on supporting the health and well-being of feral and stray cat colonies via T-N-R-M (Trap- Neuter- Return- Monitor); if we encounter kittens or cats young enough or friendly enough to domesticate, we rescue them from those sites and work with them directly to get them healthy and ready for a second chance at life as a part of a family and a home. Our rescued cats and kittens are unique being that they were born as feral or stray cats, meaning it took more time and involvement to domesticate them may than others. When you support Hobbes Haven via your adoption and donations, you are helping a bigger ripple effect, because you are supporting existing feral cat colonies stop their cycle of suffering by getting all colony cats sterilized and vaccinated, but also offering a very rare second chance to a few lucky ones.<br/><br/>At Hobbes Haven, your adoption fee helps us cover this kitten's start-of-life veterinary care at one of our collaborating veterinary clinics in the Columbia River Gorge- this is a transparent one-to-one transaction, absolutely no revenue is made from this.<br/><br/>Currently we have an estimated guess that Riddle was born early May, making her too young at this moment to be spayed. Her adoption fee will pay for her spay services ahead of time, ensuring she will have a healthy and kitten free future! She has received her first dose of FVRCP vaccine early July and will receive her 2nd and 3rd dose 1 month after the latter. Riddle has been dewormed twice and is receiving direct care and interaction to continue to domesticate her.<br/><br/>Up to the point of adoption, Hobbes Haven has covered the following out of pocket: FVRCP vaccine/s, deworming, antifungal bath/s, nail trimmings, veterinary treatment for ailments as kittens (URI), food, cat supplies, daily care, etc. - your donations help us cover these collective costs and truly make a difference!<br/><br/>Interested in adopting Riddle?<br/>1.
