Remi's Story

Hi, I'm Remi, an active and fun 3-year old looking for a place to hang out forever. I live in a lobby condo, not the cat adoption room, so please come look for me! The condo is spacious with windows to look out at all the people and dogs nearby plus there are toys and places to climb, but it's not the same as a home. I'm looking for a calm, patient home where I can get comfortable at my own pace. If you're willing to give me time, I'll reward you with playful companionship. I am shy at first ... when you come to meet me, don't be surprised when I stay in my cubby. But with a few treats strategically placed on the ladder to the floor, you can get me out. Sit on the floor, give me time to smell you and please don't rush to pet me. I'll let you know when I'm comfortable with you. And when that happens, I like to play! I can get overstimulated easily during play time so you will need to watch my body language and stop (I'll be honest, I have scratched ... but the cat cuddler volunteers are working with me and I'm getting better).

I have the "honor" of being one of the longest cat residents at HAWS. I say it's an honor because I am the purrfect spokescat to demonstrate the HAWS mission of assuring animals sanctuary for as long as it takes to find a loving home. I had a home once, but I was too active for them. There was another cat in the home that I was friends with so I think I could thrive in a home with another active cat if we are properly introduced. If I'm going to be an only kitty. I need a home that understands and will appreciate my need for activity! But who knows, maybe I'll mellow out as the years pass? Let's find out together! Please come meet me today, better yet take me home.
