Reese's Story
Reese was left at the shelter when she was about 2 years old, sick, and unspayed. After she was spayed, the shelter decided that she was unadoptable and put her with ferals because she was not acting like a friendly cat. (Wonder why?) Reese did not thrive in the shelter environment, and when she became at risk of euthanasia, some shelter volunteers reached out and asked if her foster parents would take her into their home, because they felt there was a really friendly cat inside that reactive kitty.

Reese was very affectionate back then, after first coming into foster care, but she would quickly become overwhelmed from any interaction and would lash out. She enjoyed quiet time in the safety of her room and slowly she built up trust with people.

Now, she is an absolute snuggle bug! She doesn't want to be alone all the time as she once did. Reese prefers the company of people, and she would like to be a lap cat. She isn't shy, and her fosters report that she never hides or shies away from new people; she will run right up and rub on their leg! While very affectionate, Reese doesn't like to be held. She is okay with being briefly picked up to be placed in a carrier or on furniture, but does not welcome extensive handling and she prefers to initiate her cuddle sessions. Reese no longer becomes overwhelmed with every interaction, but some of her sassy “catitude” still remains.

This 4 year old love bug would do best in a quiet home with adults, where she can enjoy her retirement years. Like all Bordentown City Cats, Reese is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is all ready to go to her forever home!
