Ramses's Story
***PLEASE READ ENTIRE PROFILE DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING! Thank you! ***

Meet Ramses! This big hunk of love came in as an orphaned kitten back in October, literally dumped loose in the parking lot of our veterinary clinic the same week someone else dropped off 2 kittens in a makeshift wood and chicken wire crate. It took myself and another fellow licensed veterinary technician 20 minutes to find him and coax him out of the brambles and brush on the hill next to our hospital. Poor little Ramses was only 8 weeks old, crying his little head off from deep in the bushes and so unsure of where he was and what happened to him. Luckily he came close enough once he smelled the canned A/D food, and I was able to grab him and carry him inside. We had another family of cats here just before he came in that consisted of a mother, Cleopatra, and her 2 solid grey babies, Caesarion and Selene. So it only made sense that we gave this additional grey kitten a fitting name to go with the same "family" theme -- Ramses!

Since then, Ramses has completely blossomed into this big, hunky, huggable, kissable, loveable chunk of boy kitty. For a long time he was super unsocialized and terrified, and still has a few streaks of that shyness and uncertainty -- he will hide underneath a cabinet or dresser or literally ANY tiny safe space if he doesn't feel secure or doesn't know someone. But once he is given time and patience to settle in and feel comfortable in a new environment, he is SUPER outgoing, very loving, very snuggly, very playful and friendly, and 100% a lapcat.

This big boy is such a huggy bear -- he absolutely craves attention, and desperately wants all the pets, all the kisses, all the belly rubs, all the hugs, all the love and affection you can possibly lavish on him. He is very licky and will lick your hand/arm while you pet him and while you rub his belly. He absolutely LOVES to be in your lap and will happily stay there as long as you let him. I believe he would also love to sleep in bed all cuddled up with his person if given the chance, as he is very people-oriented.

Ramses also loves to play with toys! His favorites are ping pong balls, spring toys, and fuzzy mice, and he also loves the stacked ball-in-the-circle-track toy. He also enjoys sitting in sunny windows watching birds and wildlife.

As mentioned, Ramses still has a shy, uncertain, insecure streak so he needs a home who can be patient with him and give him time to settle and come out of his shell. It usually only takes him a week or so. He also needs a home who will be gentle and slow with him as he gets to know them and trust them, where he can continue feeling secure and blossoming into the happy, silly boy he is!

Ramses would be OK with older children (12+) who are on the more quiet, calm side, who are cat-friendly and knowledgeable of cat behavior, and who would be able to give him the time, patience, and love he needs to settle in, adjust, and learn to feel at home. No children under 12 please.

Ramses absolutely LOVES other cats a lot, so he would be absolutely great with any existing cats as long as they are also mellow, laid back, or shy/submissive like he is. No dominant, bossy cats please. Ramses must have a cat friend for his own sense of security. For any homes who might be interested in adopting 3 cats, Ramses is VERY bonded to the 2 other kittens who came in the same week he did, and they behave as if they are siblings. For anyone interested in adopting 3 kittens together, Ramses would LOVE to go home with Frick & Frack, and they would have a reduced bonded trio fee of $60. Here is their profile:

https://www.petfinder.com/cat/frick-and-frack-bonded-pair-59983120/ga/rock-spring/freddies-felines-ga998/

No dogs please. He would be absolutely terrified, even of the nicest, gentlest elderly dog.

As always, all available cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Cats 5 years and over have had full dentals completed.

Our kitties come with lifetime behavioral support, and a no-questions-asked return policy.

All adoptions require an approved application, and a home visit upon approval when your new family member is delivered. For homes further away who plan to pick up their new baby, a Facetime home visit is required!

If you are interested in adopting Ramses, please download our adoption application from our website: http://www.FreddiesFelines.org and return via e-mail to FreddiesFelines@gmail.com.

I apologize, but due to the overwhelming number of inquiries we get, we cannot answer phone calls about our kitties. Our rescue is small and it’s just me running the show with a few foster homes! Please fill out and e-mail the application if you are interested in any of our furkids!

Adoption Fee: $40
