While a little awkward and unsure at first, he has really blossomed into a silly little cat!<br/><br/>Rajah wants to be adored and touched and is quickly learning that petting is the best! He wants to be loved and tries so hard to gain your affection. He is also an awkward clown - he chases the laser, wand toys and tries to juggle crinkle balls. Has never met a toy he doesn't like, but he is not really into catnip. The laser and wand toys are among his favorite playthings! The hairbrush is even a toy unless he’s half asleep, then he naps through a thorough brush out. Rajah is a play hard and nap harder kind of guy. He will even fall asleep purring and kneading your leg. His foster family said he plays with the intensity of the Cornish Rex in their home as opposed to their laid back Persian.<br/><br/>If there is action to be had, Rajah will be in the mix. He will follow you from room to room just to be near you. This includes unloading the dishwasher, putting away groceries, or packing himself in the suitcase for a trip. A playful housemate is required for he is far too energetic and playful for an older, more settled cat to admire. He readily instigates zoomies throughout the house with other cats! He also sometimes can be awkward with other cats and interpreting that they may want him to leave them alone. If caught picking on other cats, he has been easy to redirect behavior with a wand toy.<br/><br/>Rajah has some quirks. At first, he was a little swatty when unsure of new situations with people. He allows regular petting, but may start off standoffish. He just does not know how to ask for love, but is now getting on the couch and readily allowing pets. He is slowly starting to get onto laps, but is not what we would call a cuddly kitty.<br/><br/>But the main quirk – The stud instincts seems to not have fully left the former stud cat. He does… special “kneading” on a blanket or occasionally a person. These sin biscuits have subsided over time, but if you start petting him, Rajah will decide the house cat life is better than trying to relive his former stud days!<br/><br/>Rajah will require regular coat maintenance, which is typical for the Persian breed. He loves to be brushed and is good for baths. Rajah requires regular eye cleaning. He is a messy drinker which leads to a wet beard and cheeks, so can have some discoloring if he’s not dried and brushed out regularly.<br/><br/>He has great bathroom habits and uses both pelleted and scoopable clay litter. We recommend starting him in a single room, often referred to as "basecamp" with slow introductions and expansion of space at his pace. He is good with other cats and dogs and will even sleep with the dogs in his foster home.
