Queenie the golden eyed cutie!'s Story
Hello there, friend- Thanks for stopping by!

At Hobbes Haven our mission is to help shape & support a better life for feral & stray cat colonies in our varying communities of the Columbia River Gorge Oregon.

We want to introduce you to Queenie (don't forget about her bonded brother Sage)!

She was rescued with her brother Sage and 12 other kittens at a site of 40+ feral cats in Parkdale, Oregon.

This golden eyed cutie is a bright faced, sweet and shy girl, who really loves a loving touch once she has learned you are a safe person. She reminds me that rescued kittens take patience and understanding to come out of their shell, but once she feels safe, she opens up to be tender and affectionate girl who is very gentle and charming. Once you've brusher her a couple of times, she will keep circling back for her next turn to be pampered. She likes to play with the ribbon wand and bell balls, but also enjoys relaxing and perching sitting pretty. She was born a feral kitten, so I don't know the trauma's she may have faced as a kitten, but I continue to work with her to teach her humans are safe and we can be trusted without the periods of observation.

Queenie was lucky to have been rescued along side one of her brothers, Sage; they both faced some of the harshest conditions born as feral kittens entering the fall season near the base of Mt. Hood. Due to them being rescued together and tamed for domestication alongside one another, they have endured growth together that has bonded them. Our goal is for Queenie to be adopted with her bonded pair and brother Sage.

We hope to find families that will keep in touch with Hobbes Haven and update us with pictures and videos of our rescued angels! Remember that many times we have been fostering these kittens for many months, and that is another reason you know Hobbes Haven is a good hearted organization to support, because our goal is to find the RIGHT homes NOT a home RIGHT NOW.
Here at Hobbes Haven we focus on supporting the health and well being of feral and stray cat colonies via T-N-R-M; during out initial visits to a site, if we encounter kittens or cats young enough or friendly enough to domesticate, we rescue them from those sites and work with them directly to get them healthy and ready for a second chance at a life as a part of a family and a home. Our rescued cats and kittens are unique being that they were born as feral cats, meaning the time it took to domesticate them may have been more involved than others. When you support Hobbes Haven via your adoption and donations, you are helping a bigger ripple effect, because you are supporting existing feral cat colonies stop their cycle of suffering by getting all cats sterilized and vaccinated, but also offering a very rare second chance to a few lucky ones.

At Hobbes Haven, your adoption fee helps us cover this kitten's sterilization, rabies vaccination and testing for FeLV at our collaborating veterinary clinics here in the Columbia River Gorge, this is a transparent one to one transaction, absolutely no revenue is made from this.

Up to the point of adoption, Hobbes Haven has covered FVRCP vaccines (most of the time 3 our of 3 of the first kitten series), deworming, antifungal bath, veterinary treatment for ailments as kittens, food, cat supplies, etc- this is why your donations matter and help make a difference!
