Queenie's Story

"A female cat with her kittens is called a Queen, and that's me! I gave birth very young because I was an un-spayed cat in San Bernadino county. I was lucky enough to be fixed by a local resecue group who knew I was too special to return to the streets. We were so excited when Cats of Oceanside wanted to take me in! I am here to find my forever family and finally get to be a kitten myself."

It took Queenie about a week to adjust to her Petco enclosure. After she learned her new caregiver would bring her soft food, her favorite, she allowed head scratches and was very affectionate. She responds well to calm and gentle energy and would not be a good match for children, or a loud/busy household.

Queenie may get along with other cats, but would probably do best being the only pet; possibly do ok with a respectful dog. Her ideal owner would be calm, patient and understand the nature of some cats, giving her the space to come to them at first. The reward for this patience will be a trusting and deep love from this kind, affectionate and smart cat.

Queenie loves head scratches, is very curious, brave and beautiful. Queenie only eats soft food (she does NOT eat hard kibble) and loves to lounge in her soft bed.

Adoption application: https://digaypa7vaq.typeform.com/to/pU79t17m

After completing an application, we'll set up a meet and greet at our Petco space in Oceanside.

Our Mission
Cats of Oceanside is on a mission to connect the people of our beachside community with the street cats who live here. As our California beach town has dramatically gentrified over the last 10 years, combined with the effects of the pandemic, many lower income families have left their homes - and their cats, behind.
