Pyrex (FIV+)'s Story

Pyrex is a very quiet and mellow girl. She is currently residing in a room full of boys at shelter. Pyrex is not really thrilled about that. She tends to stay in her safe place away from more alpha cats. Pyrex is a sweet girl who seeks and appreciates attention. If you pet her just right, Pyrex will reward you with gentle love bites. She really needs to find a home. Pyrex would be happiest in a quiet home where she can relax and become the cuddly cat we know she truly is.

Pyrex is 7 years old, spayed, vaccinated, negative for FeLV, litter trained and microchipped. She is positive for FIV but please don’t let this deter you from considering her for adoption. FIV+ cats can live long and happy lives. FIV cats can reside with dogs without any concern. FIV+ cats can reside with other friendly cats who are either FIV + or FIV-. FIV is transmitted only through deep bite wounds, typically during mating. FIV is not transmitted between cats from sharing food/water bowls or litter boxes. FIV is not transmitted between cats during mutual grooming.

Get the facts - save a life - adopt an FIV+ cat.

You may complete and submit an adoption application through the Sanctuary at Haafsville’s website:
thesanctuarypa.org

Email adoption inquiries to the Sanctuary at Haafsville at:
catadoptions@thesanctuarypa.org
