Purrito's Story

My name is Purrito, and I’ve been trying my best to stay brave. I came to the shelter on October 11, 2025, as a stray, just another scared little soul trying to find safety. No one ever came forward to claim me, so now I wait here, hoping that someone new will see me and decide I’m worth loving. I’m about 12 months old, weigh around 11 pounds, and I’m a Domestic Shorthair with a mix of black, brown, and white. The staff here say I’m very sweet, just shy, the kind of shy that makes you want to disappear when the world feels too big. I’ll let you pet me, but I still flinch a little, not because I don’t want love... I just don’t quite know how to trust yet. I’m litterbox trained, and since I came in as a stray, no one knows how I do with kids or other animals. What I do know is that I need patience, kindness, and a calm place where I can finally feel safe. A busy shelter can’t always offer the quiet time I need to truly come out of my shell. I’m not neutered yet, so my adoption is open to Stafford County or bordering county residents only. Please, give me a second chance at life, a warm home, gentle words, and a heart that won’t give up on me. I may be shy right now, but with love, I’ll find my purr again.
