Purd's Story

Purd came to us with her bonded sister, Lucy, due to housing issues. Despite the changes in her life, Purd has remained a super sweet, affectionate girl who loves attention and enjoys being close to her people.

Purd and Lucy share a very strong bond and rely on each other for comfort, so they must be adopted together. They love spending their days sunbathing together and cuddling up in bed, and they truly thrive when they're by each other's side. Because of their bond and preference for a peaceful environment, they should be adopted together into a home where they will be the only pets.

Both girls are previously declawed and will need a strictly indoor-only home to keep them safe and comfortable. Purd may stop using the litter box when she becomes stressed, so she'll do best in a calm, patient home that allows her time to adjust.

Purd is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated (rabies will need to be updated). She's hoping to find a loving family where she and Lucy can spend the rest of their lives together, soaking up the sunshine, cuddling close, and enjoying all the love they deserve.

Erath County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
When someone comes in wanting to adopt, we first ask what they are looking for in a new pet. If they can describe what they are looking for, we will make some suggestions based on that criteria, and then let them go through the shelter looking at the adoptable animals. There are kennel cards on each kennel with information specific to that animal. Once they find an animal they are interested in we do a meet and greet with the person interested in adopting. If they have other pets, we recommend a meet and greet with current pets as well. Whatever animal the potential adopter chooses, we highly suggest a 5 day foster period to make sure the animal and the adopter are a good fit.
