Prairie's Story
Prairie Available for Adoption

Prairie is a one-year-old gentle and playful sweetheart who is still gaining confidence. This beautiful girl can be a little unsure when meeting new people, and shell need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. Prairie may greet you with a hiss at first, but dont let that fool youonce she realizes you mean no harm, she melts into pets, leaning into your hand and purring happily.

Prairie loves treats and toys of all kinds, and these are excellent ways to win her over while she settles in. Because she can be shy in new environments, her adopters should be prepared for a slow, structured introduction to the home. We recommend starting her in a large crate or similar safe setup, then gradually transitioning her to a small room before giving her access to the rest of the house. Taking things at her pace will help her feel secure and set her up for success.

When Prairie came into our care, she had a severely damaged and painful eye that could not be saved and required surgical removal. She has recovered beautifully, requires no ongoing care, and gets around just fine with her remaining eye.

Prairie must go home with a confident, friendly adult cat who can show her the ropes and help her build confidence around people. She would prefer to live without dogs or young children.

If youre the kind of person who finds joy in earning the trust of a shy cat and watching her blossom, Prairie may be your perfect match. Shes available to meet approved adopters at her foster home in Boston.

Prairie is approximately 1 year old, spayed, negative for FeLV and FIV and up-to-date on her vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting her, contact Boston's Forgotten Felines on Facebook or at catadoptions@bostonsforgottenfelines.org
