Potato's Story

Hi, I'm Potato!
I know, my name might make you smile-and I hope I do too, in my own quiet way. I'm a 2-year-old brown-and-white girl with a soft coat, gentle eyes, and a calm, thoughtful personality.

I'm what you might call a "reserved" lady. I like to take my time getting to know new people and new places. Big, noisy introductions aren't really my style-but if you're patient with me, you'll start to see little glimpses of who I really am.

I enjoy peaceful spaces, cozy spots, and soft voices. Once I feel safe, I'll come sit near you, maybe lean in for a gentle pet, and quietly keep you company. I'm not the center-of-attention type-I'm the kind of companion who makes a house feel calm, warm, and complete.

I'm looking for a loving home where I can be understood and loved just as I am-no rush, no pressure, just kindness and patience.

I'm currently in a foster home while looking for my loving home. Best Friends Animal Society - Houston's Adoption Policy
At Best Friends, we pride ourselves on our open adoptions policy. Open adoptions means that anyone 18 years of age or older is able to adopt from us on a first come, first served basis. What this means for virtual adoptions is that the first person who submits an appointment request to meet an animal gets to virtually meet the pet and decide if they want to move forward with adoption. During the meet & greet, the adopter asks questions about the pet, the foster showcases the amazing qualities of their foster pet, and the adoption team provides medical information, advises on the adoption process, and coordinates next steps. If the adopter decides not to move forward, we move on to the next meeting request. The meeting requests are time/date stamped to ensure fairness. Our adoption fees are as follows: $100 for dogs six months and older •$150 for puppies under six months old •$50 for adult cats six months old and older •$100 for kittens under six months
