Popsicle (26-070 C)'s Story

Momma seeking a new start in life!

Popsicle came into rescue as part of a TNR project. Unfortunately she was abandoned with a few other cats outside someone's home. Poor girl really got the short end of the stick, by the time she came into rescue she was very skinny and days from giving birth. She was so slim we thought for sure it was only 1 or 2 babies at most. This girl had 5 babies, and had been starving with a belly full of worms. Despite her deep fear at being suddenly moved into rescue and her poor condition she remained a fighter. She managed to keep her babies fed for the first 4 weeks of life when it was most crucial.

Now that her babies have moved to independence she has been working on gaining much needed weight. Her hair is still thin and her shedding immense due to hormonal fluctuations but we know someone will love her while shes on the mend. Her desperation for love and attention has shown through her fear and we know she deserves the chance to find a real home. She is shy to start but as soon as she relizes you will give pets, she absolutely melts into you! She would do best in a lower energy home on the quiet side

Unfortunately her poor start in life wasn't her only setback. She has tested FIV+. This is not a death sentence by any means, she can live a long happy life in a loving home. FIV is like HIV in humans and can remain dormant for life. This is only passed to other cats through very deep bite wounds and breeding.

She is dog friendly and cat friendly but its best she only live with other FIV+ cats.
