Popper aka "Pretty Little Thing" aka "PLT"'s Story
Meet Popper (Pretty Little Thing / PLT)

Female Approximately 1.5 years old Spayed Rabies vaccinated Up to date on flea prevention Litter box trained. Adoption Fee: $50.

Popper, aka Pretty Little Thing aka PLT, is an absolutely stunning girl with two blue eyes and a cream-and-white coat with apricot, lilac, and chocolate points, stripes, and splotches. She even has the tiniest calico pattern on the backs of both ears and stripes on her legs. She really is a beautiful cat.

We had hoped Popper would get placed quickly, but she has been a flighty, spicy girl since day one and has been very stubborn about letting that go. After spending time in the catio with no expectations, she has slowly warmed up and is far less fearful than she used to be. Treats are now a big deal to herespecially Temptations. She will take them from your fingers, and if you put down a little pile, she may even let you sneak in some head scratches. If you point your finger at her nose, she will gently sniff it and touch you back with her nose.

Popper also follows me around during feeding time and meows the cutest little meows while she supervises everything I do. I have even had her lay down just outside of arms reach on many occasions so she can keep an eye on me. She has come SO FAR, but she still needs an adopter who will bring her into their home and give her the time, patience, and love she needs. She is absolutely worth the effort it will take to earn her trust.

Popper needs a quiet household where she can be the only pet so she has the best chance to bond with her forever family. I would strongly encourage, if not require, a slow introduction starting in a small, quiet roombathrooms are best. Once she is approaching without fear, seeking you out for comfort, excited to see you, and playful around you, then you can begin introducing her to the rest of the house.

Because Popper is a more complicated case when it comes to bonding, she will need an adopter who is experienced with cats and their behavior, especially fearful cats, and who is patient and compassionate. I do not want to deem her barn cat only yet. Will someone give her a chance?

Popper started her life in a wooded area behind a gas station, eating out of a stinky dumpster. She is definitely still a little trash cat and will eat practically anythingfood is a big motivator for her. I heard that awful people were letting their dogs out of their cars at the gas station and letting them chase the cats. I went and was able to trap four kittens from the same litter and one slightly older young cat. Only one has found a home so farPoppers twin brother. He is a very sweet and affectionate boy with his forever family, and we believe Popper could be the exact same for the right people.
