Polly & Tera's Story

Polly (a polydactyl panther with beautiful white guard hairs) and Tera (a stunning longhaired gray tabby) came to our rescue separately as orphans on July 14, 2026. Both were about 10 days old. Because its easy to remember and may in fact be true, we will call their birthdays July 4, 2026.

Polly was found alone on the side of a road and dropped off at the Lancaster Animal Shelter. She is polydactyl on all four feet, which is quite rare - six claws on each front foot and five on each back foot. Although her eyes were still closed, she was plump and clean.

Tera (short for Terodactyl - yes, we feminized it) is not polydactyl, but her name goes nicely with Polly. She was found by herself in a fire pit. Her eyes were open, but she was significantly lighter than Polly and needed extra calories to catch up in weight, which she did in less than a week.

Although they are not biological siblings, Polly and Tera spent nearly two weeks together in an incubator and have been inseparable since. As far as they know, they are sisters. And because they are a bonded pair, we will only accept adoption applications for both of them.

Polly and Tera are healthy, playful, and well socialized to older cats, adults, and children. They are weaned, litter trained, FIV/FeLV negative, and vaccinated. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic.

To set up a visit, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryls Ferals and Fosters. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).
