POLLY's Story

POLLY is an adorable 2 year old all WHITE ANGORA MIX. Polly is fully vetted, spayed, rabies and distemper vaccines, blood panel, FeLV/FIV negative, microchipped and she is dewormed. She has glaucoma and is mostly blind. Polly can see light or maybe shadows out of one eye. Her eyes are not painful, and she does not require any medication.

Polly is a very sweet and loving girl. She is shy at first until gets to know her people and her surroundings, but given time she will follow her family around and seeks out attention.

Polly was surrendered because she was overwhelmed by the children in her original home. The children loved Polly but we’re too busy and loud.

Polly does not go up and down stairs at her foster home instead she chooses to live on the second floor. However, she has recently started climbing multiple cat trees. The issue is she hasn’t learned how to climb back down yet and needs to be rescued if she goes to the top. Lower levels are no problem.

Polly is not playful yet other than enjoying her catnip mat. Her foster mom believes that with one on one time she will learn to play with more things.

Polly would be happy as an only cat or can be with other cats who leave her alone and don’t jump on her or try to play with her.

Polly is currently eating mostly dry food with occasional canned.

ADOPTION FEE $25. We rarely get kittens of any breed. If we do, they will be listed in the “Available for Adoption” section. We can only hold cats for ONE WEEK. IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO ADOPT A CAT NOW, PLEASE WAIT TO FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Please remember that our cats are located in various foster homes in 6 different midwestern states (Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota). We do adopt to people out of state but WE DO NOT SHIP OR TRANSPORT OUR CATS. You must pick up the cat in person at the foster home. You cannot send a representative. So, you would be looking at a road trip or plane ride. If you cannot do this, please DO NOT APPLY. We do not keep a waiting list for any breeds. Please be sure that you are interested in a specific cat on the “Available for Adoption” page before filling out an application. YOU MUST FILL OUT EVERY SPACE OF THE ADOPTION APPLICATION OR IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED OR PROCESSED. Please note: we will contact your vet to make sure your other animals are fixed and up to date on vaccinations. Please notify your vet and give them permission to release your information to SPCR.
