Podrick's Story

Hello! My name is Podrick. I'm a very laid-back cat and I would love a quiet home where I can relax on a comfy couch (or on my human's lap ☺️). I'm very friendly, outgoing, and confident; I love meeting new people and getting attention. I have FIV or "Feline Immunodeficiency Virus," and I'm also a tripod! I've had a hard life so far, as you can see. But FIV is NOT highly contagious. The only way I could give the virus to another cat is by biting them (and I would never do that; I'm a very sweet boy! ☺️). It is rare for FIV to be transmitted via casual contact (sharing food / water bowls, grooming, etc), and many people keep FIV-positive cats in the same home as FIV-negative cats. I would also do well in a home by myself! I'm great with other cats but I am not a fan of dogs, so I need to find a home without any canine companions. I'm just a cat, so I can't explain all the science-y details about my health, but the staff at GGCHS are happy to answer any questions you may have about FIV. They are very nice and give me treats every day, so I'm sure you'll like them too. Please consider opening up your heart and home to an FIV-positive cat! I'd love to be your new best friend. ☺️
