Pixel's Story

Pixel is a large tabby with big paws and he's incredibly affectionate. He’s been altered, vaccinated, dewormed, monthly flea treatment applied, combo tested (negative) and microchipped! He’s co-existed with two female cats, and he was a gentleman. We aren’t sure about other males or dogs at this time. Pixel would make a great addition to an indoor only home where he can snuggle (he loves soft blankets and toys too). He’d do well in apartment life as long as he has room to roam and high places to survey his kingdom.

Pixel is in our foster-to-adopt program (this means he would be in your home as foster first, he comes with a cat tower, litterbox, litter, food, tons of enrichment toys and so much more)! Pixel is in a private home as we are not a shelter, we would bring Pixel to to meet you. Pixel would need time to decompress and get to know his surroundings and you! Pixel would be successful in a home where there are not a lot of visitors (at first), and then mindful and purposeful introductions. If you are looking for an instant connection or not understanding of cat behavior (he might hide for a day or two, it's normal), then you aren't offering any animal time to be successful. We feel that the right family will offer him patience, grace and bond with him, as he deserves that. We are no longer bringing him to meet and greets without speaking to ALL family members prior.

Pixel is a loving cat he has been in our rescue for several months, we know he's not a cute kitten, but he's an awesome cat. Pixel may or may not be okay with other cats he had been around females, but he's been solo for many months (we think he would enjoy being your one and only).

Please no phone calls, texts or emails. We have a foster application on our website (we are somewhat new to adopting cats and we are still using our dog foster forms). Please do your best and fill out as complete as possible. We look forward to hearing back from interested families!

Charlie's Foundation's Adoption Policy
Wanting to adopt a Senior? We'd like to tell you about our Adoption Process. All of us are volunteers and no one is paid. We do the best that we can to respond as timely as possible, but we also have our own animals, children, spouses, jobs, families, and homes - just like you. So, please be patient with us. 1. APPLICATION The first step in being considered to adopt a senior companion pet from us is to fill out our adoption application located under the "Forms" tab. If you found one of our dogs or cats on Petfinder.com or RescueMe.org you still need to fill out our online application as that is only an inquiry. It may take several days or weeks before we are able to get your application processed. During this time, please make sure that you contact your vet and references to let them know that we will be calling. We realize that our online application can be temperamental and sometimes cell phones or Ipads won't let you complete the form. We ask that you use a desktop computer and that should fix the issue. 2. REVIEW PROCESS Once your application has been reviewed, we may contact you by email or phone to verify information or ask for clarification. 3. PHONE INTERVIEW If/when we have a senior that would be a great fit for you and your family, we will call you and your references. At that time we will ask many questions and we hope you do too. 4. MEET-AND-GREET If you are approved, we will arrange a meet-and-greet. This gives all family members and pets a chance to meet, we ask that all family members are present. Please note: You and your family will be required to travel to the city where the senior dog or cat resides. We do not transport our dogs or cats to potential adopters. 5. ADOPTION If the meet-and-greet goes well and all agree, the adoption paperwork is finalized and your new family member may go home with you that very same day.
