The adult cats were feral, and as a result, Pipette had very little positive interaction with people during her early weeks of life.<br/><br/>She is a very timid kitten who prefers to keep her distance and does not enjoy being handled. When frightened, she may hiss as a way of telling people she needs space. Pipette isn't aggressive—she's simply scared and unsure of humans.<br/><br/>Pipette will need a patient, experienced adopter who understands that trust will take time to build. She may never become a cuddly lap cat, but with consistent care, a quiet environment, and realistic expectations, she has the potential to make progress at her own pace.<br/><br/>If indoor life isn't the right fit for her, Pipette may also be a good candidate for a safe barn or working cat placement where she can have shelter, regular food, and veterinary care while living with more independence.<br/><br/>Pipette is looking for someone willing to meet her where she is and give her the chance to feel safe.<br/><br/>At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals! <br/>We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals.
