What is Horseheads Community Animal Shelter’s adoption process?

Please email, mail, or deliver in person, your completed adoption application to the shelter. Once received, we will call the listed landlords, veterinarians, etc. to confirm that pets are permitted where you live, that your pets are all UTD on veterinary care. When this step is complete, approved applications go to the adoption committee where the committee does their best to match that animal's personality to the applicant's lifestyle. We do not promise same day adoptions, but sometimes it is possible.
