Pingus (& Kendrick)'s Story
Meet Pingus: Although he’s much smaller than his foster brother Kendrick, Pingus is convinced he should be the head of his household! He isn't much of a lap cat, but Pingus loves to sleep with you, as your little spoon for the entire night. He loves to lean into you, or be in proximity to you, rather than directly on your lap. He just wants to be wherever you are! Pingus is a very expressive kitty! He’ll shoot you the saddest mug if you tell him he can't have a second breakfast. Luckily, he's not one to hold grudges! While he has a limit to how long he’s willing to be held, Pingus will allow you to pick him up and cuddle him, so you can savor fur that is incredibly soft.

The story of Pingus’ bond with his foster brother is truly made-for-TV! For three weeks, Pingus despised his new brother-to-be, hissing at any opportunity, to make his feelings known. Kendrick, the sweet gentle boy that he is, never responded in kind, despite the many whacks he received on the head. At the end of those three weeks, Pingus apparently decided that Kendrick’s overtures of love were not going to cease. The two boys became inseparable, literally overnight. They’re a storm of acrobatics when they’re playing together, and Kendrick dotes on Pingus, like no other. That love extends to everyone they meet, as well! Both cats love humans, and you can expect them to be in or near the lap of whomever is looking to bring them to their forever home!

If you would like to learn more about Pingus and Kendrick, and arrange to meet them, please email info@chicagocatrescue.org for the quickest reply, or call 773/203-0215. No texts, please.

CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our respective Chicago foster families. Most of our foster families reside on the north side of the city. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.

At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. In our experience, most cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone.

Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home.

Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, foster@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
