Pickle's Story

Looking for a Professional Pickle Picker-Upper.

Meet Pickle, approximately 3-5 years old and quite possibly the happiest little potato you'll ever meet.

Due to severe joint disease earlier in life, Pickle can't quite jump onto the couch... but she absolutely wants to. Your job? Pick her up, place her beside you, and prepare to be trapped for the foreseeable future while she naps on your legs and accepts compliments.

She walks a little like a broken shopping cart with one sticky wheel, but don't tell her that. She thinks she's crushing it. In fact, one of her favourite things is going for slow little walks outside where she can sniff every blade of grass, soak up the sunshine, and make friends with anyone willing to stop and say hello.

Pickle had major surgery to give her a second chance, and now our goal is simple: keep her comfortable, keep her moving, and help her continue her weight-loss journey. She benefits from omega-3 supplements and has an inexpensive medication for the occasional pain flare-up if she overdoes it. We'll send her home with everything she needs.

She also has the cutest little cauliflower ear. It affects her hearing a bit and needs an occasional cleaning, but otherwise it's just part of what makes Pickle... Pickle.

Pickle tolerates the company of other calm pets. She'd likely do okay with another laid-back senior cat or dog who enjoys naps more than parkour. Think "retirement roommates," not "WWE tag team." Busy young pets looking to wrestle at 3 a.m. need not apply.

She came to us as a stray in heartbreaking condition. Today, she's proof that resilience comes in tiny, oddly shaped packages.

If you're looking for a cat that climbs the curtains, this isn't your girl.

If you're looking for a tiny best friend who just wants sunshine, leisurely strolls, snacks (in moderation), cuddles, and someone willing to provide the occasional lift to the couch...

Pickle isn't looking for someone to fix her. She's looking for someone who thinks she's perfect exactly as she is.

We have a feeling that person is out there.
