Phat Tom $99 ADOPTION FEE's Story
12 year old Phat Tom, born April 1, 2014 according to his microchip, is the very best boy.

He found himself in a Canadian shelter, surrendered, due to sudden "allergies" according to his owner that surrendered him and had him his entire life.

Phat Tom arrived to Mattie's Place an unhealthy boy, which was presumably the real reason for surrender. He wasn't eating at the shelter and was very dull.

Thankfully, his bloodwork is great! But he was an unhealthy 20 pounds on arrival. He's always going to be a BIG boy and we think he's currently at a good weight of 15 pounds. He also has a grade 3(4)/6 heart murmur, not alarming for a boy this age and we believe manageable.

š° MARCH 29: $968.41

Phat Tom had all his bloodwork and various testing completed for an over-all health check.

š° MARCH 31: $178.64

Phat Tom had his vaccines brought up to date

š° APRIL 7: $1,834.98

Phat Tom had a dental with 11 teeth removed & 11 teeth remaining

š° APRIL 11: $52.32 (HUGELY DISCOUNTED)

Phat Tom had some post-op complications and needed some extra medicated support

š° APRIL 16: $730.36

Phat Tom was hospitalized April 13 for not wanting to eat post-op but discharged eating April 16

š° APRIL 24: $145.57

Phat Tom had a lump under his chin and was examined at a vet in Barrie that isn't our regular vet and they weren't actionable on the lump

š° APRIL 27: $155.62

Phat Tom's lump was an actual abscess that was now lanced and antibiotics given and he's doing awesome!

OUTSTANDING: echocardiogram to deeper dive on his grade 3(4)/6 heart murmur

Phat Tom is a great cat. Friendly and kind. His previous owners declawed him, sadly, but he seems to have full mobility and no lameness from this cruel practice.

Phat Tom is an easy going boy, looking for a quiet home with lovely sunshine filled widows for him to enjoy his retirement years in.

He seems at ease with pets he's met, other than a large GSD, but I'd like to see Phat Tom in a pet free home, just so he has no stress in his life and is the centre of all his person's attention.

We will begin accepting applications for Phat Tom now, but his profile will be updated with his echocardiogram results when available and prior to adoption.

FROM HIS FOSTER:

Tom is a purring machine who loves human company, he seems to adjust to new people quickly, heās definitely a social guy who will come running when you call him or just if he sees you. He really likes to be close to his human, he will sit with you purring while watching tv or reading a book. He is easy to relax with.

Grooming is not a chore, he loves to be brushed.

Phat Tom is a grazer and enjoys wet food as well as dry.

Phat Tom is litter trained and has never missed his cat box.

Phat Tom was also a very good patient at his vet appointments, the vet had no problem handling him.

Phat Tom did fairly well on the car rides to the vet even though he was slightly stressed he really did not show it much.

Phat Toms' favourite toy is his mouse on a string he never misses! Donāt let his size fool you .... he is still very agile and has spurts of energy, heās not a kitten but he still enjoys playing with his favourite toys.

Phat Tom loves his cat nip as well as people/ bird watching out of his favourite window.

He loves scritches but not a fan of being held or feeling confined, although he will tolerate it.

Phat Tom is one of the sweetest, social, easy going cats I have ever met. He has been a joy to foster, I canāt think of any negatives for this boy, whoever adopts him is very lucky!

-----------------------

To note: the above description is relevant to this cat in their current & previous setting. Home changes & adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim, endorse, suggest or hint at, that any of our dogs/cats are hypoallergenic, low shed or no-shed.

-----------------------

$99 Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, deworming, flea/tick prevention, vaccinations, dentals if needed or any added surgical care required, food, nose to tail health exam, toys, litter and litterbox, dishes, scratch pad/tree and 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance with immediate coverage on adoption day.
