Petunia’s FAQs

What is Ritchie County Humane Society Inc.’s adoption process?

Adopting a pet is a simple and inexpensive process at our shelter.  You must fill out a short adoption form and then pay a small adoption fee.  Part of the adoption paperwork is promising to get your pet spayed or neutered if not already done.   Adoption Fees are as follows: Dog - spayed or neutered = $200 Dog - non-spayed or neutered = $125 Cat - spayed or neutered pet = $50 Cat - non-spayed or neutered pet = $15 (These fees are subject to change without notice, by breed, or by expenses incurred by that animal.) Please email us at rchumane@zoominternet.net for an application.  Thanks!
