Petey's Story

I’m Michele, Petey’s foster mom, and this boy is one of the easiest cats I’ve ever had.

Petey is a 2-year-old long-haired tuxedo with beautiful markings and those long whiskers that just add to his charm. He was born outside in a backyard in Burleson and became the neighborhood favorite. In fact, one of the neighbors felt he was such a special cat that he deserved a real home, so they reached out to our rescue to help find him one. Honestly, you’d never guess he was ever an outdoor cat.

From the moment he came inside, he just got it. He walked in, rubbed up against my legs, used the litter box, figured out the cat tree, and started playing with toys like he’d been doing it his whole life. He’s affectionate, calm, laid-back, and playful — just a really easy, agreeable cat to have around.

He loves people, does great with other cats, and is fine with calm dogs. He enjoys being brushed, doesn’t mind nail trims, and is always happy when it’s mealtime. His favorite toy is a feather wand — you can tell he’s had some practice chasing birds in his day.

Petey has been a perfect house guest and is more than ready to be someone’s perfect companion.

At Meowtown, we don’t have a traditional, physical shelter - all of our cats live in loving foster homes. That means they are already used to real home life, and we truly know their personalities, habits, and what makes them special. They are safe, socialized, and ready to be part of a family. They’re not waiting to become housecats… they already are. They just need a house.

Born 04/18/2024

Petey will be available for adoption starting 5/2/26. He has been neutered but still needs his booster shots, so he is available as Foster2Adopt. You adopt and take Petey home with you, and we pay for and arrange for booster shots later.

If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at MeowtownAR@gmail.com to arrange a visit with my foster home!
