Pete & Poppy's Story

Poppy, a small tortoiseshell Tortie female, has an XL personality. She was found on Memorial Day, May 25, 2026, by one of our followers who cares for a local feral colony. Poppy was probably about eight days old when we got her, so we are calling May 17 her birthday. She is fully weaned, litter trained, FIV/FeLV negative, and vaccinated. We named her Poppy because she was rescued on Memorial Day.

We got Pete, a dilute orange male, on June 10, 2026, from the Lancaster Animal Shelter. He was also an abandoned orphan from a supported feral colony. Pete was at least five weeks old, but weighed only 300 grams, which is very small. We are calling his birthday May 6, 2026. He ate from a plate the first morning and has not stopped eating or growing since. When he grows into his XL paws and ears, he is going to be huge. Pete loves human contact, adores Poppy, and has a gentle spirit. He is as sweet and reserved as Poppy is confident and outgoing. He is fully weaned, litter trained, FIV/FeLV negative, and vaccinated.

After just a few days together, Poppy and Pete were the best of friends. In their case, we will only consider adopting them as a pair, the advantage being you are guaranteed to have a compatible match. We know you will enjoy their joyful antics as much as we have.

Our nominal adoption fee covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic. To set up a visit, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryls Ferals and Fosters. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).
