Pete's Story

Meet Pete!

Pete and his 3 siblings were born to mama, Muffin Cakes, shortly after coming into Heartland's care. They were fortunate to have landed a wonderful foster home that was able to care for them as they entered the world.

Pete is Heartland's "Wobbly Warrior." Born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), he may tip over from time to time, but he always gets right back up with a purr. He's proof that you don't need perfect balance to live a perfect life. CH is a neurological condition that affects Pete's fine motor skills and balance. The most important thing to know is that CH is not a disease. Pete isn't in pain, it isn't contagious, and his condition will never get worse-he will simply learn to navigate the world in his own "wobbly" way!

He does require some assistance from time to time with doing regular things though he does know how to use the litter box with a low side entrance and potty pads. Sometimes he needs a bath afterwards for which he's very good.

His awesome fosters also currently help him eat(mostly wet food). But he is still learning how to do things and could possibly eat on his own with the right set up.

Pete's 3 siblings and mom have already been adopted, and now it's his turn! He's a happy, healthy boy who just needs a carpeted home and a family that appreciates a kitten with a unique "swagger." If you're looking for a goofy, resilient, and endlessly entertaining best friend, Pete is your guy!

Pete is up-to-date on his FVRCP vaccinations.

Pete has not been neutered yet but it is important to us that all of our animals are fixed and so we ask that you put down a $100 refundable deposit while we schedule a time for surgery for. We will schedule, transport, and ensure surgery and then refund you your deposit once completed.

Pete is currently staying in a lovely foster home. Email cats@heartlandanimalshelter.org to set up a time to meet them!
