Percy's Story

* To be considered for a meet/adoption, please read the full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an online application at www.dpsrescue.org.
Percy
14 weeks old | Kitten | Professional Social Butterfly | Full-Time Conversationalist
Meet Percy, a tiny kitten with absolutely zero understanding of personal space, social boundaries, or the concept of strangers. And honestly? We wouldn't change a thing.
Percy is 14 weeks old and has already decided that everyone he meets is his new best friend. Cats? Friends. Dogs? Friends. Humans? Obviously friends. The delivery person? Probably his friend too. He is the kind of kitten who walks into a room and immediately begins making introductions as though he has been appointed Director of Community Relations.
And Percy has A LOT to say. This boy is vocal. He will happily carry on a full conversation with you, even though you may have absolutely no idea what you're discussing. You say, 'Hi Percy.' He says, 'Mrrrrrp.' You say, 'What are you doing?' He says, 'MROW.' You say, 'Really?' He says, 'MROW MROW MROW.' Clearly, there is important information being exchanged.
Then there is Percy's favorite way of meeting someone: grooming them. He doesn't believe in awkward introductions or slowly getting to know someone. Percy meets a cat or dog for the very first time and apparently thinks, 'Hello, nice to meet you. Hold still while I clean your face.' It is ridiculously adorable.
He is playful, outgoing, affectionate and completely convinced that the world is a wonderful place filled with people and animals who are just waiting to become his friends. He'll happily chase toys, investigate whatever you're doing, climb into the middle of the household action and then settle in for some affection when he's ready to recharge.
And that's what makes Percy so easy to picture in just about any home. A busy family? Perfect. A couple? Wonderful. Someone looking for a companion who will actually talk back? Percy has the job. Other cats? He'll probably try to groom them within five minutes. A friendly dog? Congratulations, your dog just got a kitten.
Percy isn't looking for a quiet little corner where he can observe life from a distance. He wants IN. He wants to be part of the action, part of the family and preferably part of whatever you're currently doing.
Basically, if you've ever thought, 'I would really love a kitten who is affectionate, ridiculously social, playful and comes with his own commentary track,' Percy would like to report for duty.
He's tiny. He's adorable. He's incredibly friendly.
And he has thoughts. Lots and lots of thoughts. All kittens have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350 for the pair or $200 per kitten.
