Meet Peppermint Fizz & Raspberry Torte <br/><br/>These two have been here before, though they certainly didn't expect to be back.<br/><br/>Fizz & Torte first arrived as stray kittens in July 2025. <br/>With time, patience, and gentle socialization, Torte made wonderful progress in foster. She learned to trust and became more comfortable in a home, and the siblings were adopted together that October into an adult-only home.<br/><br/>Nearly a year later, they've lost that home and are starting over.<br/><br/>Fizz is still the sweet, social boy we remember, although right now he's understandably scared. Torte is once again relying on those familiar defenses. When overwhelmed, she may hide, hiss, or react defensively. Slow everything down, give her space, and build trust, and you'll find the same girl who learned before that people can be safe.<br/><br/>And when the world gets too scary? They have each other. After returning, the two were soon found snuggled together in a cubby, seeking comfort from the one constant they've always known. <br/><br/>Torte needs the kind of home we've always known is right for her: **calm, predictable, and adult-only or with older teens.** Fizz is her security blanket, and sometimes she is his. They must be adopted together.<br/><br/>Both are also carrying extra weight and would benefit from gradually returning to healthier weights.<br/><br/>They're not starting from scratch. **We already know Torte can blossom when she's given the environment she needs. This time, we're looking for someone willing to give both of them exactly that, for good.**
