Pepper ***Special Needs: CH***'s Story

Pepper: loving, laid-back, independent, California type kitty that goes with the flow

Pepper's story: I was given to Fitchburg Friends of Felines when a family felt me and my little sister were too much to handle. I must disagree, but that is ancient history!

My foster mom disagrees, and does not find me too much to handle. My foster mom never had a CH kitty like me, but she has had a minimal adjustment period to accommodate my needs, like a low entrance litterbox with higher sides, heavier food bowls so I don't knock them over, and rugs everywhere so I can get a grip when maneuvering, since I am a mover and a shaker with my condition.

CH kitties like me are really normal, but we have a neurological condition that makes us wiggle. There is no meds I need to take for this condition, and I will live a long, happy, wiggly life in my forever home.

I do get tired often, because wiggling does take a bit out of me. I am really a normal kitty. I roll and flop to where I need to get to, which is fun! I eat, drink, pee and poop, and my flexibility with my back legs are amazing because I can do a split. I do the army crawl when maneuvering, and do not stand in the middle of a room, as my balance is not the greatest. I use my front legs more than my back, but I stand when I eat and drink, and love to be lazy and sprawl out.

I am a 100% toy driven kitten, but not as crazy as my little sister. I like to play, and observe, but I do not need to be a joiner. More of a couch-potato at times, a bit lazy in fact. But when my foster mom wants to play with me, I am all about it. And when my sister instigates, we play together.

I don't have a favorite toy. I just play with whatever toy is in front of me, whatever that may be, so I don't have to move my lazy butt much. I am definitely not picky!

I love to go under things. I like to go under the bed, table... toilet... I like to position myself so I can be an observer. But if someone is coming towards me, I am out for attention. There is a pet bed I like to sleep in, or if there is carpet, a towel, a shirt... I am laying on it!

My ideal home would be wall to wall carpets, or a lot of rugs everywhere so I can get a grip while walking and playing. I would love a young friendly kitty that would welcome me into my new home. I do have a sister, also with CH named Aspen, but she is a bit too wild for me, as I am a chill type. I am not a huge fan of young kids, as they seem to be a bit more hyper than I would appreciated. Dogs, basically the same, and I keep my distance. I do need attention from my humans as well, so a family that can be accommodating to my needs and can give me the attention that I need as a kitten, along with another young companion in the house would be ideal. Preferably, a cat that does not mind a buddy for company, or an older dog that just lounges, and no high energy companions (kids or animals) would be appreciated.

Fitchburg Friends of Felines facilitates a foster to adopt program that places the intended adoptee with the potential adoptive family. This ensures that your feline companion is the perfect fit as well as provides support as you both transition into your new life together.

You can fill out an adoption application here:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1685w60NjfU2eeE55Cd57TAaEZU7bERjyY825EMto48sTQw/viewform

Please reach out to Fitchburg Friends of Felines directly at 978-222-3170 or fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com with questions. Fitchburg Friends of Felines, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are required to have a solid character reference, vet reference, and a site visit which can be conducted virtually. Due to MA regulations, we cannot intake pets from out of state. We offer a foster to adopt program to guarantee the intended kitty is a good fit for your family. We also require that all adopters agree to return the kitty should the adopter no longer be able to care for him or her in the future, or an agreed to person is identified to continue care for this kitty. We are not a brick and mortar; all available cats are kept in foster homes. Therefore, we would need time to schedule a visit to meet a kitty. We are happy to travel to match the perfect kitty for your family. Our adoption fees are normally $250 per cat, $350 for specialty breeds or exotics, and $50 less per kitty if interested in multiples. For specific questions, or for an adoption application, please feel free to reach out to us directly: fitchburgfriendsoffelines@gmail.com or call our hotline: 978-222-3170
