Penny's Story
Meet Penny!

Penny is a gentle 15-year-old domestic long hair who has been through a lot in a short amount of time. After being left behind and abandoned in an apartment with other animals, she had to fend for herself-an experience that understandably left her unsure at first.

The beautiful thing about Penny? She warms up to people very quickly. She is affectionate, enjoys gentle pets, and loves to sleep right by her humans. She truly just wants to feel safe and close to her person. And don't let her age fool you-she still gets excited to chase a laser toy and show off a little playful spark.

Penny will need regular brushing to keep her long fur comfortable and mat-free, which can become a special bonding routine. She is cat selective and would do best with a respectful feline companion and slow introductions. While she isn't bonded to Domingo, they share a familiar history and quiet understanding from surviving the same abandoned apartment. They don't rely on each other or cuddle, but they coexist beautifully, give each other confidence, and are happiest knowing the other is nearby. For anyone considering adopting both, they truly make a lovely, balanced pair.

Penny would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can continue to feel secure and cherished. She may be a senior, but she has so much love left to give-and she deserves a soft place to land for her golden years.

Penny is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $100.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, up to date on flea and tick preventative, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. All adults are combo tested; for some litters of kittens who have not been exposed to other cats, only one kitten in the litter may be tested. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and helps us continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
