Peepaw's Story
Named after an old southern grandpa (think Meemaw & Peepaw), this elderly gent is everything you'd want from your own grandpa. He's wise, affectionate, and may even be hiding a Werther's Original in his vest pocket. He was known to look out for all the young cats at his colony, raising them up right and teaching them to look both ways before crossing the street. His trapper tried for years to get the colony caretakers to let him "retire" from outside life (or even bring him inside themselves). They finally agreed to him getting care when it became clear his arthritis was getting worse.

Now, after a few months of indoor TLC, monthly injections for his achin' joints, and a nice warm heating pad - he's able to jump to the top shelf of the cat tree and run around with the best of them (especially when dinner is being served). His coat has vastly improved and he finally got the dental work he so desperately needed. He's had all four fangs removed, and as much as he tries to convince us he needs them, we haven't relented to getting him dentures yet. He is on a wet food only diet (no biting into whole apples in his near future), and daily supplements called l-lysine & cosequin for his general health.

True to his street-cat roots, Peepaw still carries a bit of that scrappy charm. An unattended plate is an invitation, and he will absolutely steal a sandwich if given the opportunity. He taught you not to waste food after all! Like any respectable grandpa, Peepaw has a few firm boundaries. He’s a bit sensitive about his backend and does not appreciate his tail being touched. He is quick to forgive however, especially if you’re good at ear scritches and have a tube-treat or two.

The only catch is that he is FIV+ (which honestly isn't even a little bit of a deal - we encourage you to look up modern information on it), and there is no chance of another cat actually catching it (as he doesn't have any teeth to bite with)!

If you were willing to give this old timer the retirement home he deserves, he will repay you with all the lap time, and drooly headbutts you can handle.

DOB: 9/12/17

All cats are altered, microchipped, dewormed and given age appropriate vaccinations.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not have a physical shelter, therefore all our cats reside in foster homes. We do require a completed application prior to setting up a Meet & Greet in a foster home.
