Peeka ** Senior Cat**'s Story
*** Located in California. Will be transported to Oregon in under 2-weeks when application is approved and virtual meeting has been completed! ***

Adoption Fee $200
Peeka: The Gentle Senior Seeking a Cozy Bed

Meet Peeka, a sweet and gentle 12-year-old senior cat ready to trade her past for a plush, cozy bed in a loving home. Her life took a difficult turn when her hoarder owner passed away, leaving her to fend for herself in the bushes outside her old home for a period of time.

Despite her difficult journey, Peeka is a super sweet girl whose only wish is for comfort and companionship. She loves to cuddle and would thrive as a devoted friend to anyone. She is adaptable and would do well as a solo cat or living alongside other kitties.

Peeka has since had one of her eyes removed due to a condition called melanosis, which is typically benign, but can turn cancerous. It was decided that the best approach was to remove her eye to steer clear of having it turn cancerous, and now she’s a beautiful one eyed kitty! She has handled surgery like a champ and is doing great.

We’ve also moved other fosters out of her room, and it has made a huge difference in her personality. Peeka prefers not to be around other cats and wasn’t herself when she had to share space. She could be grumpy and a bit surly, so we’re looking for a home where she can truly be the queen. We believe she would do well with calm, cat-respecting dogs.

Peeka would love a quiet, peaceful home without a lot of chaos. She can have a little “tortitude” when it comes to being pet the right way—she may get overstimulated if her lower back is touched for too long. But on the other hand, she is a total sweetheart and love bug who absolutely soaks up attention. She’s a cuddler who will snuggle up on your chest, give head boops, and rub her face under your chin. We would also love to find Peeka a foster home with no other cats.

Give this lovely senior the peaceful, indoor golden years she deserves. Peeka is waiting to show you just how much love she has to give.

Medical: fixed, dental, vaccinated, combo negative

Please Note: We do not allow same-day adoptions.

We want adopters to thoughtfully consider the lifelong commitment of a cat and as a volunteer-run rescue, we cannot always process paperwork immediately after meet-and-greets. Most adoptions are finalized within 24-hours.

To help speed up the process, please email a walkthrough video of your home to adoptions@mariospaw.org after scheduling your meet-and-greet. Thank you for your understanding!

What’s Included in the Adoption Fee
Spayed/Neutered (no cat is adopted without surgery)
Microchipped
FIV/FELV tested
Up to date on FVRCP vaccines
Dewormed and flea-treated

Your adoption fee also helps cover supplies, administrative costs, and vet care for our many medical cases allowing us to rescue more cats in need of extra surgeries, specialist care, and rehabilitation.

Interested in a pair? Please note that on your application as priority is given to duo adoptions! We do not offer any discounts.

The adoption application can be filled out here: https://forms.gle/zR62zNUFx23eYU647

If you are interested, our adoption process consists of:
- a submitted application
- in person meet-and-greet
- video walk through of the main areas of your home
- adoption link sent to your phone with our contract where you will pay the adoption fee and receive the medical records sent via email

For more photos and videos, visit our social media pages!
Facebook.com/mariospawrescue
Instagram.com/mariospawanimalrescue/
Tiktok.com/@mariospawrescue
