Patriot

Meet Patriot

At just 1 year old, Patriot has already experienced something no pet should ever have to endure.

A concerned citizen witnessed someone pull into a local park, open their car door, leave Patriot behind, and drive away. Confused and alone, she waited for the family she loved to come back—but they never did. Thankfully, a kind-hearted person couldn't leave her there and brought her to the safety of Boonville Animal Control Shelter.

Patriot is one of the sweetest cats you will ever meet. Beneath her timid exterior is a loving soul who simply doesn't understand why her world changed overnight. The shelter is a scary place for her. She often flips her bed over inside her kennel and curls up underneath it for hours, using it as her little "security blanket." When we remove it so she can stretch her legs and explore, she'll cautiously venture out, but the slightest unfamiliar sound sends her searching for that safe place again.

Patriot isn't broken—she's heartbroken.

She is looking for a quiet home where she can finally feel safe again. She would do best as the only pet in a calm household with someone who understands that trust takes time. Give her the patience to adjust at her own pace, and we truly believe you'll discover one of the most loyal, loving companions you could ever ask for. Once Patriot realizes she's finally home and no one is going to leave her again, she'll reward you with a lifetime of love.

Could you be the person who gives Patriot the happy ending she deserves?

If you're interested in meeting Patriot or learning more about adopting her, please contact:

Boonville Animal Control Shelter
1560 E.
