Patrick's Story

Resides in a foster home. Approved adopters would need an appointment to meet. Patrick's story is one that will stay with us forever-and one we are so hopeful will lead him to the peaceful, loving home he has always deserved.

When Patrick came to us, he was in absolutely devastating condition. His mouth was so severely infected that we truly feared he might not survive the pain long enough to make it to surgery. Eating was agony. Living was agony. It was one of the most heartbreaking cases we've seen.

After undergoing a much-needed dental procedure-where nearly all of his teeth had to be extracted-Patrick finally got relief. And almost immediately, you could see it... the pain was gone. He felt better. He was better. For the first time in a long time, Patrick could just exist without suffering.
What we see now is a completely different cat-but also one who carries the quiet weight of everything he's been through.

Patrick is incredibly gentle, soft, and submissive. He asks for so very little. Give him a clean bowl of water, some soft wet food, and a cozy blanket, and he is content. He absolutely loves human affection-but he'll never demand it. He won't push his way to the front. He won't compete for attention. He just waits... patiently... hoping someone notices him. And that's what breaks our hearts the most.

Patrick has likely spent years struggling-fighting for food, being overlooked, possibly bullied by other cats. Because of that, he would do best in a calm home as an only cat, or possibly with other very easygoing, cat-friendly companions who will respect his space.

If you have a quiet home and an open heart for a cat who will never ask for much-but deserves absolutely everything-please consider Patrick. He is so, so special.

The adoption fee for adult cats is $125, and for kittens it is $150. This helps us cover the vet costs needed to get them in tiptop shape and ready to be adopted. We also strongly recommend that our adopters consider getting two cats, especially if you plan on getting kittens! We've found that having two cats is about the same amount of work as having one cat, but comes with a number of benefits: - It gives your cat a buddy to play and socialize with. This really helps them not get bored and improves their emotional well being - You get twice the cuddles and love We will waive the adoption fee for the second cat if you choose to do this! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at contact@purrphilly.com!
