Paris's Story

Paris is a gentle, soft-hearted 6-year-old who's truly blossomed with a little time, patience, and love. She came to the shelter when her previous owner became overwhelmed with too many cats and needed help finding homes for them. At first, Paris was very fearful and unsure of her new surroundings, so she was placed in a quiet foster home where she could decompress at her own pace.

It took about a month for her to feel safe-and once she did, her sweet personality began to shine. Now, Paris is thriving in a quiet, low-key environment and would do best in a similarly calm home moving forward. She gets along well with other relaxed, respectful cats and enjoys having peaceful companionship nearby.

Her foster mom describes her as a "sweet little girl with a big floofy tail" who loves to be close to her people. Paris has an adorable way of chirping when she wants something-especially when she's hoping for her favorite gravy-style canned food (pâté is definitely not her thing!). She enjoys playing with wand toys and will happily hang out near you, just content to be part of your day.

Paris is also an easy and tidy housemate-she has excellent litter box habits and has been a joy to foster. With her gentle nature and loving presence, Paris is ready to find a patient, understanding home where she can continue to feel safe and adored.

Dog and cat adoptions are the foundation of our mission and the services we offer. After more than 48 years of helping find compatible and loving homes for the animals in our care, we still have a lot more to do. There are thousands of homeless animals in the Chicagoland area waiting to find homes. We hope that you will take the time to learn more about our adoption process and consider adopting one of our current residents. WSHS does its best to match adopters with the dog or cat that would be best suited to their family situation and lifestyle.
