Panini (bonded with Biscuit)'s Story
**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens**

***Panini was a member of a cat colony undergoing a Trap Neuter Release program, so she is used to living with many cats. In foster with Biscuit, they have become inseparable and must be adopted together.

A classic, striped tabby cat, Panini has big, startlingly clear, citrine-coloured eyes that gaze out timidly at the world around her, still processing this new world she is now navigating. Typical of cats born in a colony and unused to the comforts of a warm shelter, Panini’s first instinct is to hide and watch from a safe corner. Loud, unfamiliar noises and sudden movements make her skitter away to seek cover, so a home that is not so busy would put her at ease much more quickly.

Panini is a bit more shy compared to her foster bff Biscuit, but the two of them offer support and security to each other. Once she becomes more comfortable with her surroundings, Panini is happy to stay close by you in a cozy hideout like a cubby or tent. She makes these really cute chirpy noises when she talks, and you can’t help but talk right back! She has adjusted to having people around who wants to engage with her, and is more tolerant of human touch and doesn't run away as much when you try to pet her. However, there are limits to how much stimulation she can take, and her body cues make it clear when that boundary is approached or exceeded.

Panini and Biscuit are both still getting used to living with humans, but both are quite curious even if they respond in skittish ways to new stimuli. They are okay with being petted on their own terms, but neither of them can be picked up yet and will need continued work to get used to nail trims and being brushed. They both love wet food and Churu, but aren’t easily bribed. Their favourite toys are a string of rope and the laser toy.

With time and patience, they will become super loving cats to their humans!

Would you like to make Biscuit and Panini a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, first-round of age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption, flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.

All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it’s twice the fun for you, and half the work!
