Meet Panda

You can find out more about me and Animal Aid's adoption process at www.animalaidpdx.org .

The Basics: MEOW! I'm the super affectionate and attention-seeking Panda! I'm a big boy at about 20 lbs, and I'm probably part Maine Coon since I'm such a large floof. I do have some quirks and I am high energy.

I am very talkative and very needy for attention: I will follow you around and weave between your legs waiting for you to sit down so I can jump in your lap. My fur is long and fine, so I need regular brushing to avoid matting.  I'm on a diet, but my ideal weight is only a few pounds lighter as I'm naturally a large cat.

I came here after my person went into a care facility. In that home, I supposedly lived in the garage for years. Sadly, I didn't get much attention, though I actually crave it and wouldn't do well being left alone for a 40-hour work week. Sometimes I do get overstimulated or like my space and may swat or nip so I need a cat-experienced adult-only home. I am currently on an anti-anxiety medicine due to being returned for unpredictable biting. I am high energy and sometimes high anxiety.  Sometimes I will strike or bite if I don't get my way.  I also eat a prescription food due to an allergy I had on my chin possibly from other food.

Likes: I love petting! I love people! I love to sit a lap!

Dislikes: I don't like being left alone for too long or being ignored. I don't really like other cats, and I will hiss at them and corner them to bully them. Honestly, I just get a little jealous of other cats, so it'd be best if I could be your one-and-only. I would not do well with small children, as I can get a little overstimulated with petting and may try to nip if I'm not getting the right kind of petting.

Looking for: A home that will give me LOTS of attention! I need someone who is not gone from home longer than about 6 hours a day. I need a very cat savvy home (I wouldn't be a good fit for a first time cat guardian).

My estimated birth date is 6/1/2014.

*All cats at Animal Aid have been spayed/neutered, tested negative for FIV and Felv, microchipped, and are up to date on core vaccines.

Please note: due to our screening preference to view the potential home and interview the prospective guardian, we rarely adopt out of our local Portland metro area.
