Ozzy's Story

Meet Ozzy – A Gentle Black Cat in Need of an FELV-Friendly Home

Ozzy is a sleek, all-black cat with striking auburn eyes and a calm, sweet soul. He was found living outside a local liquor store, where kind staff had been feeding him and calling him that name. Despite his difficult circumstances, Ozzy greeted everyone with happiness—always excited when food or a kind hand came his way. He loves petting and even belly rubs (which he willing rolls over for and watches while you rub his belly). He is food motivated but will stop in between bites to get more head scratches. I haven't found anything he dislikes yet.

I had intended to rescue him to be friends with my two indoor girls, but he came back positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), and now he needs the safety of a dedicated FELV colony or sanctuary. He is fully vetted - as of Sept 29, 2025, he received a full check up, combo blood screen, vaccinations (minus FELV), microchip and neuter. He was good throughout all the tests and the vet techs loved him.

This boy has a truly wonderful temperament. Even while struggling outdoors, he remained gentle and easygoing. He has shown he gets along with other cats— he peacefully interacted with a FeLV-negative female, following her lead in play and respectfully backing down when she wasn’t interested. Ozzy is proof that good manners and a kind heart make for an incredible companion.

Despite his good soul, he was at risk where he was—harassed by people in the area—so he was rescued to give him a chance at the love and care he deserves. With his calm, affectionate nature, Ozzy will thrive in a safe, stable environment.

Ozzy is a good boy who just wants to be loved and belong. He needs someone who can offer him a place in their FELV colony or a sanctuary where he can live out his life in peace and comfort.
