Owen (FeLV+)'s Story
***Sharonville Location ***

Owen is a gentle soul, even though he’s still a kitten. He doesn’t have that typical crazy energy you see with kittens, although he’s curious and loves exploring. He is affectionate and loves attention but wants someone who is as gentle as he is to interact with him. Owen gets startled easily and is cautious. He may not like a home with young children for this reason. And he definitely does not like dogs, as we have witnessed with our free range shelter dog, Betty.

Owen was found alone in a warehouse, potentially coming in on an industrial truck by accident. It’s unclear how he ended up where he did but a sympathetic employee offered to give him a home, reasoning that he already had a cat so why not add one more?

Unfortunately the test results at the first vet appointment revealed that Owen is FeLV + and we have since confirmed those results. So he had to vacate the home he had found, as to prevent the other felines from catching the FeLV virus which is highly contagious.

Owen does well in our FeLV free range room. He is independent but gets along with the seniors in that room. I can tell you personally that Owen is an excellent little snuggler and biscuit-maker! I had to spend the night at the shelter during the January blizzard and Owen made things much more comfortable by snuggling up with me. I’m confident that he would be a little lap cat and would sleep in your bed if he were adopted!

Please consider making an appointment to meet Owen to see if he might be the right fit for your household.

*Must be 21 or older to adopt
**Our shelter has a policy to only adopt within a 50 mile radius so that if problems arise, the pet can easily be returned to the shelter.
