Otto's Story

Meet Loretta and Otto, a striking 1-year-old black and white pair who are ready to take the next big step in their journey together. Found as strays, this gorgeous duo is still working hard on learning to trust humans, but they have already made incredible progress during their time with us! Because they are still building up their courage, Loretta and Otto need an experienced adopter who understands the art of patience. They are looking for a gentle guide who is willing to give them the time and space they need to build true trust and gain confidence in themselves, as well as their new environment. A quiet home with older, cat-savvy children (aged 12 and up) who know how to respect a kitty's boundaries would be a great fit. At this point in their development, a dog-free home is highly recommended so they can focus entirely on feeling safe, though they may be open to a canine friend later in life once they feel completely secure. Being adopted together as a bonded pair provides a massive boost to their ongoing development. When facing a big transition like moving into a new home, having a familiar friend by their side acts as a natural security blanket. Loretta and Otto draw immense comfort and confidence from each other; when one brave sibling takes a step forward, the other is quickly reassured to follow. This shared bond drastically reduces their anxiety, allowing them to settle in much faster than they would alone. Adopters should definitely be prepared for the magical transformation ahead! Once their shells fully crack open and they truly blossom, their family will get to experience the joy of two high-energy, wonderfully playful teenagers. They will quickly transition into normal young cats with an insatiable curiosity for the world, needing plenty of interactive playtime, enrichment, and stimulation to keep their smart minds busy. If you have the experience and the heart to watch a beautiful transformation unfold, Loretta and Otto are waiting to start their new chapter with you! Their combined adoption fee is $450.

*To visit our cats, you must make an appointment on-line at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt.*

Note: While we are happy to respond to your questions about any of our cats, you will still be required to make an on-line appointment at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt if you wish to meet our cats.
